An online intervention based on self-efficacy theory improves maternal sleep quality and reduces anxiety in mothers of infants aged 10 to 24 months.
In a randomized clinical trial with 104 mothers of infants aged 10-24 months, an online intervention involving two virtual meetings on sleep, relaxation, and anxiety management plus motivational messages significantly improved sleep quality (PSQI from 10.4 to 4.9) and reduced both trait-anxiety (38.2 to 33.5) and state-anxiety (36.4 to 33.8) after 30 days, compared to a control group that received only monitoring. All improvements were statistically significant (p<0.05).

Frequently Asked Questions
What was the sample size of the study?โผ
The study included 104 participants, randomly allocated to intervention and control groups.
How long did the intervention last?โผ
The intervention involved two virtual meetings and motivational messages, with outcomes assessed at baseline, 15 days, and 30 days.
What were the main outcomes measured?โผ
Sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and anxiety was measured using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (both state and trait components).
Was the intervention effective?โผ
Yes, after 30 days the intervention group showed significant improvements in sleep quality and reductions in both trait and state anxiety compared to baseline, with p<0.05.
