In the AMP SCZ multi-site neuroimaging protocol, site-related variance is generally small (typically <10%) for most MRI measures. However, for diffusion-weighted imaging, platform-related variance accounts for >55% of the variance in signal-to-noise and contrast-to-noise ratios due to hardware differences, and spatial smoothness also shows large platform-related variance.
