Sleep disturbances and sleep latency predict metabolic syndrome in male Taiwanese workers
In a cross-sectional study of 348 Taiwanese workers, the prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 26.4%, with higher rates in men (33.3%) than women (19.3%). Among men, sleep disturbances and sleep latency were significant predictors of metabolic syndrome, while among women, shift work and body mass index were associated.
