Sleep quality does not significantly affect cardiorespiratory fitness (VO2 max) in apparently healthy young adults
This cross-sectional study compared VO2 max between normal and poor sleep categories in young medical students. Mean VO2 max was 42.50 mL/kg/min for normal sleepers and 41.89 mL/kg/min for poor sleepers, with no significant difference (p=0.77). No correlation was found between PSQI score and VO2 max (r=0.029, p=0.591).
