Combined apigenin and magnesium synergistically enhance sleep duration in normal and insomnia mouse models
The combination of apigenin and magnesium (A+M) significantly increased sleep duration by 44% in normal mice, 32% in caffeine-induced sleep-disturbed mice, and 37% in PCPA-induced insomnia mice, outperforming individual treatments. Mechanistically, A+M suppressed systemic and hypothalamic TNFα levels and inhibited microglial activation via NFκB signaling.
