In a cross-sectional study of 94 patients with late-life depression, subjective reports significantly differed from device-estimated measures for total sleep time (TST), sleep onset latency (SOL), and sleep efficiency (SE). Greater depressive symptom severity was associated with greater subjective underestimation of TST (p = 0.037), while later age at first onset was associated with greater subjective underestimation of SE (p = 0.013).
